Erik Beck developed his love and fascination with photography at an early age. Born in Seattle, Washington,
Erik grew up on the magnificent Olympic Peninsula. He discovered and embraced photography fully at 17,
and worked as a freelance photographer for local newspapers, often shooting sports and other local events.
His love-affair with photography blossomed after that, and he established almost a lyrical/poetic point of view
that continues into his work in the present day.
Erik believes that every idea will determine its demand specific execution, lighting and POV, and has perfected
his use of a wide range of technical abilities that enhance and powerfully depict even the most abstract subjects.
Adept on the street or in the studio; with portraiture, landscape or still life - Beck embraces the wide-ranging availability
of various subjects - yet brings intimacy, engagement and relatability to his creative direction and artistry.
Erik Beck continues to create assignments for commercial, editorial and corporate clients. His current focus is on book
and exhibition projects that include his recent collage work and other ongoing documentary essays.
